Our Story

Established in 1973 by Brian and Margaret Costley and now run by daughter Angela, Costley Dance Centre has helped to train thousands of dancers across Wolverhampton, with several going on to win international honours, such as International Latin American Dance champion Debbie Inskip and professional dancer on Iceland's version of Strictly Come Dancing, Sophie Webb.

Angela

Our principal teacher, Angela has over forty years of professional experience. She is qualified in Ballroom, Latin and Sequence dancing through IDTA, UKA and NATD associations, meaning her students are eligible to take a variety of medals and enter multiple competitions every year.

Dancing from five years of age, she completed the IDTA medal grades and, at the age of sixteen, secured a training opportunity at a prestigious dance school in Geneva. She completed an intensive course of lessons at the famous Alex Moore Dance Studio in London to learn the competition routines of the principal of the Swiss school.

On returning to the UK, Angela began completing her professional qualifications, subsequently becoming a partner in the Costley teaching team.

Now vastly experienced, Angela enjoys teaching at all ages and levels from our youngest children in our Sunday classes to our most senior dancers in our daytime classes.
